OCD can be a manifestation of PTSD. When life feels overwhelmingly unpredictable, our body instinctively seeks ways to instil and maintain order. It might also use OCD tendencies as a protective measure, limiting certain behaviours to 'ensure safety'.
Obsessive-compulsive habits can sometimes take root in childhood and continue throughout one's life. For others, these behaviours might emerge later on, perhaps after a significant traumatic event—even if it's years down the line.
A large portion of OCD behaviours can be traced back to emotional trauma. This desire for control is often a shield masking underlying vulnerability. Internal conflicts within an individual can lead to the emergence of obsessive tendencies.
Clinical hypnotherapy can help the sufferer to uncover the deep-seated reasons behind their OCD. Symptoms begin to dissipate as soon as insight is gained.
